Join a virtual symposium on innovative materials and catalysis

A Joint Virtual Symposium on Innovative Materials & Catalysis will take place on Thursday, January 8, organized by researchers from VŠB – Technical University of Ostrava, the Center for Advanced Technologies and ENgineering (CATEN), and the Leibniz Institute for Catalysis (LIKAT). The event will be held online and will feature half-hour lectures by leading experts followed by a discussion.

“We believe that the joint symposium with our colleagues from LIKAT will further strengthen cooperation in the areas of sustainable chemistry, catalysis, and materials engineering. This collaboration has already led to a number of high-quality publications. Our task is to design catalysts tailored to specific chemical reactions and to carry out comprehensive structural, chemical, and electronic characterization of these materials,” said one of the organizers, Radek Zbořil, Head of the Materials-Envi Lab (MEL) at the Center for Energy and Environmental Technologies at VŠB-TUO.

The symposium will address new opportunities in the field of single-atom catalysts, as well as analytical approaches to experimentally describing their functionality. The program will also focus on discussing possibilities for valorizing joint research outcomes, particularly in cooperation with the CATEN center, and on potential participation in joint calls within the Horizon Europe framework.

Interested participants can join the symposium via https://cesnet.zoom.us/j/96204194137. The program is available here.
