Onsemi is interested in collaborating with VSB-TUO graduates and exploring research partnership opportunities

During a joint meeting, representatives from VSB-TUO and Onsemi from Roznov pod Radhostem discussed collaborating on research and placements of university graduates. Guests from the global company also visited several departments at the University.

According to Igor Ivan, Vice-Rector for Strategy and Cooperation and Director of REFRESH, this is another in a series of meetings aimed at establishing new or strengthening existing ties and cooperation with the commercial sector. “During the meeting, we discussed strategies for enhancing collaboration within the research field, particularly in materials research. Additionally, we addressed the important issue of our graduates’ employability within the company. Onsemi is highly interested in hiring them, and several of our PhD students are already employed there,” said Ivan. The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Faculty of Materials Science and Technology, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, the Centre for Energy and Environmental Technologies, and the IT4Innovations national supercomputing centre.
