REFRESH featured at the international OSH 2026 conference
The REFRESH project was presented at the International Occupational Safety and Health 2026 Conference, held in late April and dedicated to current challenges in workplace and process safety. Representatives from the Faculty of Safety Engineering (FSE) introduced the project at an information booth and in a workshop, highlighting it as a platform for key research on the safety and reliability of modern energy systems.
“At the information booth, we presented the project’s objectives, ongoing activities, and results achieved so far. The presentation also featured a video demonstrating our experiments focused on the safety of modern energy systems, particularly in relation to fires, explosions, and hydrogen technologies,” said Sandra Tesařová from the Faculty of Safety Engineering.
She also presented completed project activities during a workshop titled “The (In)safety of Hydrogen Mobility: Results of Experimental Tests.” Marek Holuša followed with a presentation of measurement results from hydrogen vehicle research and testing, including experiments involving the Toyota Mirai. Conference participants also had the opportunity to explore a hydrogen vehicle firsthand, inspecting it and learning during a guided tour about the principles of hydrogen propulsion as well as key safety aspects of hydrogen mobility.
The 26th annual international conference was organized by the Faculty of Safety Engineering at VŠB–TUO in cooperation with the Association of Fire and Safety Engineering. Academics and other experts, alongside representatives from industry, exchanged new insights and practical experience in areas such as emerging technologies in occupational and process safety, legislation and inspection practices, safety education and training, and a wide range of related topics.
