The Fraunhofer innovation platform makes debut appearance at the Business2Science conference
Representatives of the Fraunhofer innovation platform participated in the Business2Science conference organised by the Moravian-Silesian Innovation Centre on 19 October. Vladislav Kolarik from Fraunhofer ICT introduced the collaborative efforts between VSB-TUO and two Fraunhofer institutes during a pitch-deck session. Attendees also had the opportunity to explore details about the platform’s operations and potential collaboration in a networking session at the FIP-AI@VSB-TUO meeting point.
“I was pleased to witness the interest in our FIP, networking is of great importance for us. We have established connections with a number of participants and will now actively seek specific opportunities for cooperation. The conference served as an excellent platform to introduce ourselves. The overarching theme of bridging science and business, which was central to the conference, is closely related to the values of the Fraunhofer Institutes we partner with,” expressed Jana Kukutschová, Director of FIP-AI@VSB-TUO and Vice-Rector for Science and Research at VSB – Technical University of Ostrava (VSB-TUO).
The presence of FIP-AI@VSB-TUO was also appreciated by representatives of MoraviaLab, a company that focuses on research, development and implementation of controlled urban agriculture systems. “Great platform FIP-AI@VSB-TUO for connecting research and application activities of researchers, companies, organisations with international overlap,” the company responded on the social network LinkedIn.
The third annual conference for this year focused on the marketing excellence in advanced innovation. Participants addressed issues of how to effectively acquire and exploit market knowledge concerning the specific needs of individuals and businesses, with a focus on directing research efforts towards successful commercialisation.
Additionally, discussions also revolved around collaboration between academia and industry, establishing a platform for driving innovation and advancing the Moravian-Silesian Region. As noted by Ivo Vondrák, a Member of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, former Moravian-Silesian Region Governor, and former Rector of VSB-TUO, projects under the Operational Programme Just Transition, such as the REFRESH project jointly developed by VSB-TUO, MSIC, and the University of Ostrava, are to contribute significantly to this goal.
